Is Louis pronounced the same as Luis or Lewis ?

Two people said Louis is pronounced like Louisse ?

Lewis is anglecized and is usually pronounced Lew-iss.
Louis is French and supposed to be pronounced Lew-y.

This being said people adopt names from other countries and don't necessarily adopt the pronunciation.  So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have an El Salvadoran friend who is Lois like the cartoon character and he says it's a normal name over there.
