Yeast infection at 40 week

Hi. I was told that I have yeast infection this morning. I'm 40 week 4 days. The doctor told me that I am prone to tearing during labor coz of the infection. He prescribed me some suppository. Is there any way I can help to alleviate the infection quickly since I am going to labor pretty soon?
