My friend posted this picture on her page of her baby in her crib and I feel like this is not good ... there's blankets and stuffed animals al around her , I just wanted to know if this would be something I should tell her isn't good to do or if it is fine? I always heard that there should be no blankets and no toys in baby's bed right ? She's only 3 months old.

As someone who has worked in pediatrics for the last 10 years, YES!! Almost everything in that crib is a choking/smothering hazard. The blankets, the animals, even the rail protector. They have all proven to be potentially hazardous.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, they recommend nothing in the crib, not even bumpers. Possibly she just has her in there for a picture? I'd be very gentle if you do plan on saying something to her because you don't want her to feel bashed as a mommy.  My sister and I used to have the same pediatrician and every time I went when my kids were under a year, she always reminded me to not put anything in the crib with baby, even blankets. I know my sister would have gotten the same reminder from our pediatrician,  yet my sister gave both her kids blankets from the beginning. It freaked me out so bad. She was comfortable doing it tho and as their mom, that was her choice. I mentioned my kids have nothing in their cribs per the doc and SIDS recommendations but she continued to do it.  So while you are right to be concerned, I'd just go about it very gently.

If supervised at all times i put a blanket over my son but no teddies etc. But for night time he just has a sleeping bag and the crib is completely empty. But yes it is a suffocation risk..

I found out that most parents know what the "rules" are but they choose to ignore them because they believe they know better and they've been doing this all along with no issues (why someone would chose to test their luck on something like this is beyond me 😑).
I would want to say something but as I know it may not get the best response, I'd probably bite my tongue. If I feel very inclined, I might share the AAP recent safe sleep recommendations and just say something like "hey, these were recently announced. Dunno if you heard about them or not?".

It's a suffocation hazard because babies can roll on their sides and scoot themselves to the corner, but young infants' brains aren't developed enough to wake themselves up and cry if they can't breathe, they just sleep through it. I only put a breathable bumper in the crib and swaddled in a breathable muslin blanket, no stuffed animals until about 8 months or so.

My daughter has a sleep sac and bed sheet on her mattress. That's it! But I have Friends on Facebook who have things like this in crib. Honestly I don't say anything because it's the parents decision and it's the parents who should be informed on what's safe or not...not up to me to be the Facebook police. That's just how I see it ..

Thanks for the advice ladies about how to try and put it. 
She mentioned she was sleeping n her crib alone And I saw this and I was like omg this is unsafe. She had a nephew or cousin die at 3 months due to Sids and I wouldn't want anything to happen to her baby
