Mom's with Medicaid is the baby covered under you?

When the baby is born do they automatically have Medicaid under you? They already sent me and "unborn" card for them, does that mean they're covered? And do I call to change his name and stuff? Or is he under my insurance?

In Texas the baby is covered for the first year automatically.

You still have to notify them of birth and you will get a couple bills in the mail but they will re run them later

With most states u will only have Medicaid for urself two months after baby is born so in that time frame they will be under ur insurance. Now that my baby girl is close to two months she has her own insurance card. Once she was born I got in contact with my insurance carrier n they were able to add her to mine so for her first couple of visits I showed them my insurance card
