A wedding but no marriage?

I've considered getting married to my SO for pretty much as long as we've been together but I am genuinely terrified to make it legal! How insane is it to have a wedding without becoming legally married? 
The guests and even our families wouldn't even have to know!

I think it's super deceitful. If anyone EVER found out, they would never trust you again. That's like living a lie, and way harder to keep under wraps than you'd think. Many officiants probably won't perform the ceremony also. I would wait until you're okay with making it legal.

My question is why go through with all of that? Just don't have a wedding till you're ready for the marriage

That is totally sane! Lol marriage is scary. I've been dreaming of the perfect wedding since I was little. Been married but didn't have a wedding.vowed to never get married again. But I still want a wedding lol
