Second time sex

Hey,

So I had sex for the first time a few days ago with my boyfriend and I didn't bleed. We came to have sex tonight and it hurt a lot and I bled! I couldn't even let him penetrate me because of the pain. Is this normal? Why was the second time around more painful?
