Harmony Age?

Did anyone under 30 get the Harmony test? We asked our ob about it, but they said they don't do it on people my age (I'm 28). Is that everyone else's experience?

My doctors office offers it for everyone. They did a study and just as many babies have abnormalities with younger women as mothers as older mothers. I'm 25 and did mine Tuesday

I'm 32 and just did the harmony test and waiting for results .  Maybe you do have to be 30?

Yes, same experience. You can still request it and pay about 200 out of pocket for it. I would just wait an extra two weeks though and pay for an early gender scan at a private ultrasound place because that is much cheaper, for me only 70.

We had it done with our first LO(I was 21) and we had it with our second(I'm 23). I've heard some offices don't offer it unless a certain age or family history😞

In the US most insurance doesn't cover it unless you are high risk or over the age of 35. You can pay out of pocket but it's expensive and the NT scan is a pretty effective screening tool.

It's not like they said no way we won't do it for you. Sorry if that's how this came across. I'm sure they'd do it if I demanded it, but it would be out of pocket due to my age/risk level. I did get a genetic screening with an ultrasound and a blood test, but it was different than Harmony. I was just curious if this was everyone else's experience.

I'm 23 and had it done! Kind of had to fight my OB for it. She warned me that my insurance wouldn't cover it (because I am low risk and under the age of 35) but I called the testing company and they have a cap for what they directly bill you as a patient if your insurance denies the claim, so I went for it anyways.

My insurance only pays for it if you're over 35. Otherwise it costs $200.
