So I have a memory of a strange an inappropriate incident happening between my older cousin and me. I don't know if it's real or not. I feel weird if it's not. But I don't know if it actually happened or if it's just in my head. Do you have any memories like this? It's really bothersome to me.

Not that I'm aware of, but I was taught in psychology that our minds naturally do this. That's why eyewitness testimony isn't always the most reliable.

I was in the EXACT situation with my older cousin....when I was 13, I got ballsy and called him, asking him to come over. I talked to him privately saying "I dunno if it was a bad dream, or if this actually happened, but somethings been bothering me, a memory of when I was 4...." right away he fessed up to it, apologized with tears in his eyes, and now we have gotten along ever since...mind you I do still have certain major triggers, but knowing he came clean does help

I have many memories like that. Did you have a traumatic even happen in your childhood to early adulthood? 
When I used to go to therapy for my childhood, my therapist told me that sometimes when bad things happen, our brains push them out of our memories as a defense mechanism and those memories can resurface later. Being an adult, some weird things have surfaced that have been proven by my family to be true. It's a very odd feeling.

Kinda?? There was a ghost in a house we lived in for a couple years when I was young- 18 years ago. Nobody ever saw her face but she looked just like my mom from the back and was always in the laundry room. That's the only room in the house that was randomly unfinished.

All of my siblings and both my parents saw her, but NONE of us talked about it until Christmas 3 years ago. We all even wrote down a description of what clothes she was wearing just to make sure nobody was lying. Can't prove there was one, but it still gives me the heebeejeebees

Idk...my sister is a pathological liar. Maybe this is how she started??
Not saying you will become one. But I read something once about how easy it is for the human brain to invent facts and then believe them
