When should you pierce your babies ear?

At what age did you all pierce your child's ear? Where did you have it done and what was your experience after the piercing? Did it heal well, did baby have problems with it?

My daughter's pediatrician gave the thumbs up at her 4 month old appointment. She got her ears pierced almost a month ago now. My daughter is fine. She isn't reaching for her ears. Her ears never became swollen. Of course she cried during the piercing but only for a few seconds.

You shouldn’t. Wait for an age where they are able to make the decision for themselves. Piercing someone without their consent (not matter what age) is wrong and shouldn’t be normalised

Got my daughters ears pierced at 2 1/2 months and they healed perfect. Shes five now almost sox and doesn’t play with them or anything. Shes actually asked her dad and myself if she could get her ears pierced like mommy’s( mine are done twice).

We just did hers this month. She’s 15 months. Kinda wish we would have done it sooner but after the first 2 days she stopped trying to get em, she still pitches a fit when I clean em.

Usually about 6 months to a year old. After that it's best to wait until they won't mess with them. It's hard to keep them clean and keep them from getting infected. Also, go to a tattoo shop. Do not go to Claire's. A shop is much more sterile. All you have to do is bring a notarized consent form, your ID, and their birth certificate.
