Anyone else with a big baby?

I'm 32w1d and at my midwife appointment this afternoon the midwife thought I might have excess fluid so sent me down for an ultrasound. It turns out that my fluid amount is perfect, and while baby is healthy he is in the 95th percentile measuring two ounces shy of 5 pounds already!

I saw an OB after my scan and she said we'll do another growth scan at 36 weeks and if baby is still measuring large (which he has been at all my other scans too) then I will likely be offered the option of induction at 38 or 39 weeks. So I'm just wondering who is in the same boat with me? What are your views on inducing for a big baby? Or in your previous experience did baby come before induction anyway because of his size?

I go for an ultrasound Monday to check baby's growth since my fundal height is measuring big. I guess we will see!

I had a scan at 31 +5 and baby was measuring 4 and a half pounds, fluid etc was normal around him. However like you he is measuring on the top line of growth. I've got to have a gestational diabetes test to rule this out, as this can be another reason why baby is measuring big. have you been offered this? They also say estimate weights can be miles off

I had a friend have a growth scan and baby was estimated to be between 8.5 and 9lbs and her doctor said she wasn't allowed to go over 41 weeks. She went into labor naturally on her inducement day and the baby was actually 6lbs 9oz
They say those scans can be off by about 2lbs
