::UPDATE::

After reading some of the comments I decided to call my bestie and talk about what happened 2 days ago. This is how the convo went:

Me: hey I just wanted to call because when you called me the other day about the announcement you sounded shocked but not necessarily in a good way and I know you guys have been trying to get pregnant and i just wanted to check in on you and see how you're doing.

Her: No, no I'm fine.

Me: I'm sorry it was in a mailed announcement but I just thought that it was best so you could have whatever reaction you wanted and not feel badly. I know you guys have been trying so I felt bad even telling you, I wasn't sure how to.

Her: Well actually...we're pregnant too!!!

Me: ::cheering congrats::

Her: I was just nervous on the phone because I wanted to tell you but then decided to wait until my 8 week appointment which was the next day.

Anyways, long story short - turns out we're 2.5 weeks apart!! Both due in September!!! I am so so excited for her and US to be pregnant at the same time. We even ended up planning a dual baby moon so the hubbies could drink and we could hang.

Thanks everyone for the comments and perspectives. I think it's worth noting that we all react to things differently and it's important to be compassionate to a certain degree but also just be happy with yourself no matter what.

So I posted about this before asking for idea on how to tell my bestie that I'm expecting. She's been trying to conceive for a while now (6mos) and hasn't had any luck. I decided the best way to tell her was to send her a cute Valentine announcement. I made like 10 of them and just gave them to immediate family and her. I did this because I wanted to give her space to be upset or frustrated without projecting that onto me.

Long story short, last night I got a call from her telling me she got the card. She said congratulations but after that she made a couple of comments that I thought were rude. In a tone she said "dang you sure are telling people early" and "so it only took you 2 months must be nice." I had thought about shutting her down if she had any nasty remarks but I could tell she was just hurt so I stayed upbeat and changed the subject.

I'm just astounded at the fact that some people have a hard time being happy for others when they're not getting the things they want. I completely understand the disappointment of having months go by without getting pregnant but I also know that I wouldn't be upset at anyone else for conceiving.

Anyways just wanted to vent. Not sure if anyone else has had someone close not be excited for them during their pregnancy. It sucks but I refuse to let it get me down because I am so happy for my little baby and no one is going to take that away from me.

So bloated! Can't wait to meet Baby J❤️
