Is it just me or does anyone else not get cramps on their period and instead just literally feel your uterus shedding

I havent had cramps since sophmore year of high school. Instead i get this consant pain like there is a knife being dragged around my uterus. Some months its just a dull pain i can ignore and other months it hurts so bad i can barely move. My friends think im lucky that i dont get cramps
