why is my period this late???

Tomorrow my period will be 17 days late. I've taken two home pregnancy tests, negative. One urine pregnancy test at my primary care, negative. And a blood HCG pregnancy test and it was <1 so, NEGATIVE. I'm not on birth control so that doesn't answer my questions to why it's so late. I've been told that typically birth control can throw off your period if it's not taken correctly. I've never been this late in my life. I don't have many pregnancy symptoms but I'm worried. (Sore breasts, spotting, etc) but I have been very tired and been getting headaches lately which is unusual for me. Ive read stress can do it but I'm not under any more stress than I am any other time. Just in case I am cutting my caffeine and drinking mostly water because I wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize anything if that makes sense. Does anyone have any explanation or advice for this? I've talked to my doctor and she doesn't seem to take me seriously. She said come back when you've missed your period for three months consecutively. But I don't want to find out three months from now. I think that's too late in finding out if I'm pregnant or not. She said it's normal but I don't believe that to be true. If it's not pregnancy then something would be causing my period to be delayed, right?
