Experience with Aviane?

I just started birth control for the first time, the pills version. The doctor gave me some kind of generic version of Luterra called Aviane. Anyone have personal experience with this brand? What side effects have you had on it? So far I've only had a bad headache and a little bit of nausea. How effective has it been for you? My fiancé and I are planning to stop using condoms once I've been on it for a month, but I'm extremely paranoid about getting pregnant, so I'm curious how effective it will be in general if we don't use condoms.
