Alcohol while pregnant?

How often, how many drinks and why/ why not?

The reason why I would say "never" is because it's one of the very few things where it can directly impact fetal development. When people say to avoid soft cheese, raw fish, etc., it's a recommendation to avoid getting serious food-borne illnesses that would make you very weak and uncomfortable...and then impact the fetus. Alcohol can directly impact the fetus without harming you...doesn't seem fair to gamble that away!

I'm in the never camp. I just don't think it's necessary & I want my child to have the best start to life so I'm committed to fresh fruit & veg, while avoiding sugar & processed food.

I have nothing against occasional drink while pregnant but currently I do not have any desire for it. I think diet has a lot more affect on the baby than occasional drink. And by occasional I mean 1-2 times per week of glass of wine/beer.

My moms friend is burned in my head she didnt know she was pregnant until 5 months along she was nearly 35 went to 3 weddings in june and july only had the toast champagne at them and her daughter was born with afs. You have no idea how it will effrct your baby so why risk it?
