Why do you want only one child?

For those who want to have only one child, don't you worry that your child will be a bit lonely? What's the reason you don't want more kids? Just curious :)

I come from a big family, lots of nieces and nephews.. so someone to play with won't be an issue. My husband and I want to pour all our focus onto just one and do the best job possible. 😄

I was an only child and I turned out okay. :) With one, I feel like there is more opportunity to DO stuff. Multiple kids is multiple expenses without any extra income, yanno? I personally feel like in my life I could give better experiences if my attention was focused on one and doing all of the things with that one than with multiples.

I definitely want more than one but most of my husbands friends have chosen to have just one since they travel / spend time abroad frequently and it's easier with one.

We have one and are considering a second. We would like another, but it was difficult for us to get pregnant with this little guy, took us years, so we may only ever have one. There is also the cost of childcare, which would be around $2000/month for both kids when they're young. One is way more affordable.
