When to let baby sleep with a blanket

My LO is 6 months old and loves his blanket. I DO NOT let him sleep with it. Some times I let him fall asleep with it and then take it when I know he's asleep. But this is causing issues at night. He pretty much has always slept all night but wakes up every once in a while fussing and moving around. Usually falls asleep on his own but lately he wants his blanket and I'm terrified of giving it to him and me falling asleep before taking it.... any suggestions. He hated being swaddled and sleep sacks.

I think once they can sit up on their own they are pretty capable of handling a light blanket. Idk when ill let my girl have one all night but i think ill be comfortable with it around then.

I tuck my son's blanket under the crib on both sides.

I think 6 months is ok. Get a blanket that hs small holes in it.

My daughter started sleeping with a baby blanket at six months. She's now nine months and while I had a sleepless few first nights, she sleeps so much better. She's got excellent head control so I don't worry anymore. We've had zero issues with it.

I let my daughter sleep with a blanket since she came home I only put it on her legs or half of her stomach. She's 3 months and I still do it.

Mine has since about 4 months. Its a muslin so its breathable.
