anyone had to change their diet for breastfeeding?

Has anyone changed their diet and seen a difference? I keep trying thinking it will make my babe less gassy but everything seems to make him gassy, anyone have good experience with changing their diet for breastfeeding?

My son also has silent reflux and I eliminated dairy, spicy food and caffeine. Seemed to help him.

Cut out all dairy/lactose there is a list of gassy foods to avoid so I don't eat those, I stay away from garlic because it will sour your milk, nothing spicy, I only drink water, Gatorade or lemonade. For cereal I use almond or soy milk (supprisingly isn't that bad). I tried eating pizza after a month (you know tons of cheese, stuffed crust even), and I saw within 24 hours a big change so I know I can't introduce anything right now..may try again once pediatrician clears us for solids.

I cut out the big allergens - dairy, soy, corn, wheat, eggs and beef and my baby's silent reflux, gassiness and general digestive upset has decreased to essentially nothing. I am hesitant to reintroduce foods because she is doing so well!

I had to completely quit eating andy dairy products (milk..butter..cheese..) and my baby stopped being so fussy ..and i lost weight..so win win

Every baby is different I would cut out anything just kind of test it out like dairy nuts gassy and spicy foods. Cut out each thing one at a time to see if there is a difference in fussiness or see if it bothers your baby because I avoid spicy and gassy foods cause I know my baby gets extra fussy if I've had something fried or gassy and spicy foods irritate his sensitive stomach but I drink milk and love dairy and he has no problem with it and I've had plenty of peanut butter so I don't think he is allergic to that either. Just like solids you have to see what is bad and good for you baby one thing at a time because there is no universal diet to follow

Yes. On a MSPI diet for LO because of her bloody stools and colic. It took several weeks of no dairy and soy but her poops are yellow again and she is just a normal fussy baby instead of a purple faced screaming inconsolable baby. So worth it--even though milk is my fave!

Breastmilk is made from blood not the contents of your stomach. The only "foods" to avoid would be dairy because the proteins travel into the blood stream & most babies can't digest them properly. Which leaves babies upset & colicky. Also does your little one have ties?

Honestly i think whatever upset me upset him. I had allowed myself to eat foods that I knew upset me during pregnancy because I didn't want him to have intolerances either but as soon as I cut out gluten, dairy and some other random foods that upset me he has been MUCH better.
