Abigail or Astrid?

I can't believe we have managed to get down to two names, it has been terribly hard! I love Welsh names (being of Welsh origin myself) but my Spanish husband finds them too weird for Spain (where we're living)
Abigail - My husband likes the meaning and Abby as a nickname, I don't like the origin and we worry it will be pronounced A-bee-gah-EEL which is how Spanish people would say it. Astrid - Like the meaning and similarity to my own name (Ingrid) although many people might comment about that. Unfortunately it doesn't show the baby's British heritage which is what I had intended at first. Any thoughts?

Have you considered a Welsh middle name? I love Cariad, even though it's not a name per se- I live in Wales so I couldn't use it because it wouldn't feel right to me. Astrid Cariad is quite sweet though?
