Breastfeeding moms (question)

❤️ • Momma of 1 ❤️
My LO is one week old today 💙 however, the day after I delivered last week I noticed I was having some tooth pain. After being discharged the pain seemed to be getting worse and worse and I rushed to the dentist. Turns out I have an abscess underneath my molar the size of Texas and almost the whole right side of my Jaw is infected. Needless to say I needed antibiotics to kill the infection before they could pull the tooth out so they prescribed me both an antibiotic and Motrin for the pain and was assured both were safe during nursing. Well I had my appt today to get the tooth extracted and once he stuck the anesthetic needle on the tooth I immediately had to tell him to stop because of how excruciating the pain was. (It migrated to my head and my temple started throbbing). He the proceeded to tell me that he has to give me Valium (narcotic) to sedate me a little so he can get the rest of the anesthesia to my tooth. Gave me the Valium...waited and hour...pain only got worse from the initial needle prick and I never once felt the effect of the Valium. He told me I wouldn't be able to breastfeed for two days because of the narcotic. After a while he then said the infection is too large to be on such a low dose of antibiotics so he had to put me on an antibiotic that is not safe for breastfeeding. I have to be on it until Friday and then wait days after the procedure is done Friday to be able to breastfeed again. I'm down and depressed about it and I have nothing against formula...I'm just a FTM and this is the one thing I was looking forward to. That special bond between mother and baby 😔 so my question is, has anyone had to stop breastfeeding for a week or more and has LO gotten use to formula/bottle feeding and not taken your breast? I'm new at this so I don't know...I'm sad, worried and scared all at once!
