Safe sleeping

Amy
Co-sleeping includes both sharing a room with your baby and sharing a bed. While sharing a room is highly recommended for at least the first six months, sharing a bed is dangerous. Is your child's life worth the risk?

My baby brother has permanent brain damage and is unlikely to live past 8 years old due to ongoing seizures as a result of being asleep in my mothers arms while she fell asleep. He was not dropped, nor was he suffocated by a blanket or the like. His head simply fell forward and cut off his air supply and when she woke up, he was unconscious.
If you are tired (like the rest of us), feed your baby standing up or sitting on an uncomfortable chair or in the middle of the floor... whatever you need to do to ensure you remain awake. Do not sleep with your baby and make sure you follow the guidelines on what constitutes a safe sleep environment.
Or don't... but please consider how you would feel if your child died or was permanently brain damaged as a result of your choices.
