Take Them Back?

Question

If you and your significant other broke up for about a month, and in that time frame they had a one night stand, would you take them back if they asked?

Answer

This depends on why you broke up and why they want to get back together. My boyfriend and I broke up and he slept with someone about a month after. They're friends now- yes it bugs me but I trust him so I'm trying not to care. He also got involved with another girl and though they never had sex there was other things happening. When we started talking about getting back together he told me about it and I got to ask any question I needed to feel comfortable with it. He missed me the whole time and being with those other girls made him realize that he wasn't getting over me and that he wanted them to be me. He was just trying to move on. It hurt to think of him with someone else. But we weren't together so it's not cheating. I thought about trying to move on by getting involved with someone else but I couldn't go through with it because deep down I knew it wasn't going to help. But for him he was hoping that maybe he could move on that way.

So talk to your ex. If you want him back your decision shouldn't be purely based on whether or not he slept with someone while you were broken up. For me it depended more on why he was coming back to me and what had changed since our break up.
