flying help !?!

Ftm and it'll be my first time on a plane with a baby ... My daughter is 9months old and we're going to be on a 5 hour flight do you wonderful moms have any tips on how I can make sure it goes some what well? I'm freaking out about it since It'll just be me and her .. 😩

When you get to your gate, ask the gate agent if there are any open seats together and if you could be moved there since you're traveling with an infant alone.
It might be the very last row of the plane, but they gave me a whole row on a "full flight".

Best advice I have: Get there early and take your time! Do not let anyone stress you out. If they're parents, they know what you're dealing with and they understand. If they're not parents, their opinion means nothing and can be safely ignored. :)

Bring formula/milk, pacifiers, toys. If you can, look into a pair of baby-sized noise-canceling headphones. The engine noise can be soothing, but the PA announcements are crazy loud and startling for a baby who's trying to sleep.

Get a decent padded travel bag for your car seat (if you're bringing it) and check it at the ticket counter. You do not want to have to schlep that through the airport by yourself! Most airlines will check car seats/strollers for free. And your diaper bag shouldn't count against your carryon limit, which is nice. But check with your airline to be sure.

Honestly, I've found that most airport and airline personnel are super nice and helpful when you have a baby. Board the plane early and ask for help with your bags if you need it! Just take it slow and easy, and don't worry about anyone but yourself and your baby. Good luck!

I brought my daughters blanket she always sleeps with and her bear and she fell asleep 10-15 minutes after take off. And slept for 4 out of the 5 hrs on our flight.
And from before take off until after we landed on our flight home. That way it gives them comfort, but also they fall asleep easier.

Get there early! Security can take a long time, even if it's 5:30-6 in the morning!
Wear her through security, and when you board & get off the plane.
I liked wearing her on my back so I could life my suitcase & stroller.

Check your car seat, and use one of the durable car seat bags. I also added another bag inside there which had a pk of diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and bigger toys. That way if they have to open your car seat bag, you don't have random stuff everywhere, and you won't lose anything.

If your bottle or formula feeding, bring thermos and have a coffee shop fill them up after security. I also bought water so I could do half hot water, half cold for a perfect bottle for my baby 🙄

I've traveled several times by myself and honestly prefer getting on the airplane last. If you go first, then you're sitting in the plane and extra 30-45 minutes depending how long boarding takes and that's just longer you and your baby are trapped in those seats. Less airplane time is best! Especially with that long of a flight.

I also do quite alot of travelling with my son. Get on the plane last, with ascend and descend let her suck on her paci or a bottle or something. Don't put stuff in her ears as the pressure outside the cotton wool and on the inside of the cotton wool differs and that's what makes their ears hurt. Try to sit where you have an extra seat open next to you. After the seatbelt sign is off she can sit there and you can give her toys or food to keep her busy... Most of the time they do sleep on the plane
