is this normal?

I got an iud placed February 17th and I've been having like spotting and like a really light period& kind of like a strong fishy smell. Is this normal or okay? Shoul I just wait it out or is bad and I should call my doctor ?

See a doctor about the fishy smell but the discharge and spotting is normal especially within the first year of having the iud. When I first got mine I spotted on and off randomly for quite a few months. The fishy smell may be nothing to worry about as it could just be the hormones and how everything is interacting and responding but get it checked out just in case it's an infection.

I got my IUD 1/30/17, and had the fishy smell for like two weeks after I go it. I don't have the smell anymore but I haven't visited my gyno yet. I think it's just our bodies trying to get used to something new in it. You should go in anyways to make sure everything is fine, for your piece of mind :p
