Kids drinking alcohol?

So a lot of my friends have confessed that their parents used let them drink occasionally. Like some wine at Christmas, or a shot once and a while. I was stunned! 😱 They seemed so nonchalant about it too, even though it's the US law that minors can't drink. What do you all think?
