Could I be in Labor!!

I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and I have been experiencing contractions this whole weekend. I been timing them and the closet they came were at least 28 minutes apart. Today the same thing is going on but they are becoming more intense and it's mainly occurring in my back. It's so uncomfortable that it has woken me out of my sleep and I'm currently shaking back and forth to feel some type of relief. I haven't lost my mucus plug nor has my water broke. I'm a ftm, should I call my doctor or is this normal?
