Do you use white noise to help your baby sleep?

I have always slept with a fan on and have a hard time falling asleep without one. When my son was born 10 months ago he slept in his bassinet in our room and now that we are beginning to get him into his crib in his room I noticed he falls asleep quicker with a fan on so we got a small one for his room as wells

No! My cousin has a 5yo and they still have to travel with a freaking white noise machine because the kid can't sleep without it. Literally cannot sleep.
