My SO has a child who is now 18 with aspergers. The kids mom denied any communication with SO so he hasn't seen him since he was an infant. He lives in Oregon where when a kid is 16 he can deny his meds so he hasn't been on his meds and he hates his mother. I'm not snoopy. We live in Alaska and he wants to come up and work for the summer. We're thinking he is boarderline schizophrenic because he always thinks people are trying to kill him and he says he's being hunted. I know my SO would love to have him and I'll do anything to make it easier for him to build a relationship with his son but his behavior makes me nervous. We live in a small small small town and the kid has been in homes all of his life. We don't have that kind of care here in case something happens. The closest place for mental care is about 5 hours away. Does anyone have a child like this, or has experienced something like this? I'm not going to say no to him coming. I'd love to give SO a great chance at knowing his son.
