Should I be feeding her food everyday?

Question

My daughter is now 4 months old should I be giving her pureed foods and baby food everyday now?  I've only mashed up bananas one time it slid right out her mouth I've tried to give her a taste of oatmeal and applesauce here and there but that slides right out too is anyone feeding their babies food everyday?

I just tried oatmeal today for the first time and he loved it. If it's still sliding out, it sounds like she's just not ready yet. Maybe try again in a week or two and see if there's any changes.

We're starting solids at 5 months as recommended by our son's pediatrician but he said some parents can start sooner if they choose to. He recommended starting with very diluted baby oatmeal or cereal for a week so that baby can learn how to swallow the food and then start with veggies first because if they get sweet food first they will not like their veggies. Also, it's important to give the same veggie or fruit for 3 days straight 3xs a day because it will be easier for you to know if something causes an allergic reaction.

I started my little one on purée food at 3 months and started off giving it her every other day (3 times a week) and now my little one is 4 and a half months old and has purée food every day she loves it and we have also let her try biscuits (shortbread and teething ones) wich she's also loving and she will occasionally have other solid food to do she can learn to put food to her mouth and feed herself....

I haven't given anything to my little girl yet. She's exclusively bottle fed with pumped breast milk. We see the pediatrician this week for her 4 month appointment. Not sure how soon we'll start food....

We started at 4 months, and gave her some everyday.  It took about 4 days for her to learn how to not let it really slide out and how to keep most of it in!  It just takes practice 😀

If it's sliding out it sounds like she hasn't lost her tongue thrust reflex yet. It's okay that she isn't ready yet, she will get there soon! 😊

Our little girl just turned 4 months old a week ago, today just for fun and giving her a first try at baby food we gave her pureed sweet potatoes lol it just slid right out for the most part but she would eat a tiny tiny bit at a time I think she's not quite ready for it yet. You don't really have to give baby food until around 6 months so if your little one isn't really eating it yet just give it a little time it's nothing to be worried about if it isn't working yet. We also let our little girl watch us eat and sometimes she mocks our mouth movements so maybe try that out a little bit and see if it helps, good luck!
