what does thick mean?

Doctor said I'm still pretty "thick". Does that mean I'm not effaced? I didn't ask and I just stormed out the room cause I was so pissed of how rough she was. Why would a dilation check hurt so much?! She did say I'm almost 1cm.... hoping I was more at 37 weeks. Ugh. 🙄

It's not supposed to be comfortable.  I know my cervix moves back when pregnant so they literally have to go digging for it knuckle deep and it hurts.

My midwife says they either don't bother you at all or you hit the ceiling. 
But they are totally not necessary. Dilating won't tell you anything. If you don't want to get check just say no :) it actually opens you up to infection
