lying partner???

I don't know how to deal with this lying. He lies about a lot of dumb stuff, but today he lied about his father being in the hospital but I texted his mom and she said he wasn't in the hospital:/ Also he bitches at me not to lie, and if I bring this up to him, he'll be like "YOU DONT TRUST ME" yadda yadda

Talk to him and ask him why he's lying to you, especially about his father being in the hospital.

Theres no need to lie about dumb stuff, especially to your partner. Talk to him, you need to get some answers. And for him to accuse you of not trusting him when in reality he is lying, tell him not to give you a reason to not trust him. You shouldnt have to second guess what hes saying

It's a psychological thing. People with trust issues lie about little things. I used to be like that. If you asked me a simple question like what are you watching on Netflix, I would just lie and not tell you what I'm actually watching. I know it sounds silly. But to me it meant not sharing my 100% with anyone.

There is absolutely no reason to lie about anything. Honesty, especially within a relationship is critical to building trust. I would sit and talk with him about why he feels he needs to lie.

It's also how you approach the situation. If we constantly accuse someone of lieing and don't  trust our partner, it may cause them to feel that, "we'll he/she wouldnt believe me anyway". Try to avoid accusing.

Communicate with your partner and talk about why it's important to always tell the truth and how it make for a great trusting relationship. Try not to point fingers. Instead, talk it out and try to get to root of the issue.  There may be deeper reasons for that kind of behavior.
