Should you tip an in home daycare worker?

My 7 month old is going to be starting at an in home daycare tomorrow. She charges $35/day and I'm unsure as to whether it's a profession that I should be tipping on top of. If so, how much?

I don't know that I'd count it as a tip, but we do pay our home daycare provider more than her asking price. The person who recommended the place to me said that the rate was set based on what the state subsidized people pay. It's much, much cheaper than any centers around us, so I'm good with paying her a bit more in addition to presents for holidays.

I'm home daycare no, babysitter for a night out yes. I was a nanny so most times they have me tips if they wanted. When I would babysit they tipped. It's optional in my opinion. But I'm a daycare you can always show appreciation anytime. I worked at a gym in the daycare part and parents would bring in brownies, pastries, fruits, gifts cards etc.,

I agree with the other girl. A gift for Christmas is what my mom got from her daycare parents (most) but she didn't look down on those who didn't.

I voted no tip but maybe you could get a small gift for the holidays like Christmas to show appreciation instead of tipping
