Baby's born!

My story before I forget!
I started contracting regularly (every 10 minutes) at 2am on Feb 21st (my due date)
I had my regular midwife appointment on the 22nd, when I went in, she checked me - 1cm dilated, if any -_-
This went on until Feb 23rd at midnight when my contractions had become 5-6 minutes apart.
Call my midwife, meet them at the hospital at 1am.
I had a student midwife check me.
5-6cm.
4 or 5 hours later my midwife checks... We're only at a 3.
I hoped to do a natural birth, but after being in labour (with a max of 6 minutes between them) for hours and hours with no progression past a 4, I opted for the epidural.
Best choice I ever made. I could really enjoy the rest of my labour and looked forward to the birth.
5:30pm on the 23rd and I started feeling some pressure by my butt. I let the nurse know, so she decided to check me. 8cm... Closer to 9.
They had checked me an hour earlier and I was still only about a 4.
At 6:26pm I started pushing and 20 minutes later my beautiful baby girl was born!
Some tearing, mostly internal. It's the next morning and I'm definitely feeling the pain.
I honestly think, as much as I was hopeful for a natural birth, I'm beyond glad I got the epidural. It allowed me to enjoy labour, get some much needed rest and look forward to pushing/having my daughter. I think it also allowed me to push efficiently.
I absolutely embrace natural births and think it's amazing, but I'm definitely one happy mamma today because of the epidural xD
Avah was born weighting 8lbs 4oz and 21inches.
So far breastfeeding has been going well!
