Provera to stop my period?

Anyone else ever taken provera I'm on it for ten days to stop my period. Today is day two of taking it and I've only had more period symptoms (cramping, still heavy, and exhausted with headaches.) When I looked it up I found that it's mainly used to start a women's period when ones been absent. I'm on day 17 of my period currently.

I was wondering the same thing. I've actually been on a super period (which has lasted 40+ days). So, my OB prescribed provera for 10 days to hopefully stop the bleeding and get my body back on a normal cycle.

I have a question for you.... Did you finish out the entire dose of provera, or did you stop as soon as the bleeding ceased?

I had the Provera for 16 yrs it totally stopped mine I didn't put weight on and I had cramps and that told me wen to get it again x

It acts differently for many people some times their on all the time and some people they stop x
