do you follow sleep guidelines

does anyone actually follow proper sleep guidelines for their little ones? From day one my daughter refused to sleep "properly" and we've went from sleeping in a rock n play to sleeping in a swing. My cousins baby sleeps in a rock n play as well and I haven't had any friends who's babies slept with nothing in a bassinet or crib! what has your experience been?

On most occasions I follow sleep guideline...she sleeps in her crib next to my bed. I swaddle her, and she sleeps on her back. There's nothing else in there with her....however, on particularly rough nights she has slept with me, and one time in her bouncy seat...I follow them because she allows me to,..I totally understand making adjustments if you have a baby that won't allow...there's some things I would never be ok doing (belly sleeping at young age, pillows or stuffed animals in crib, etc...) but I get bending rules...everyone needs sleep, and some babies won't let you if they aren't with you...She's been in her crib from the start, and is now 3 months. She sleeps very well, and only wakes once a night for a quick change and feed and goes immediately back down.

We followed the guidelines with our son. He slept in his crib in our room in the beginning and then moved into his own room when he was a few months old. We didn't put anything extra in his crib. Not following the rules just wasn't worth the risk to us. It all turned out great and he has been a wonderful sleeper ever since (he is 6 years old now). :)

People threatened that I would ruin my daughter because I slept in her room for most of the first 6 months, often bed-sharing. This was the best solution for her being a terrible sleeper and for breastfeeding. Now, at 18 months, she is in her own room in a toddler bed. Just a few minutes ago, while reading to her, she leaned back and said, "sleep!"  I laid her down, she said, "love you, night!" Rolled over and fell asleep.

I do keep her bedtime regular and her routine of bath, book, boob, and bed.

My son slept on me for the first 12ish weeks. We tried to follow safe sleep guidelines and he just was not having it. He would sleep maybe half an hour after I put him down and I was getting no sleep. Letting him sleep on me was the only way we all got sleep. He's 14 weeks now and sleeping in his crib right next to our bed, but he wouldn't sleep on his back so he sleeps on his tummy. He doesn't have blankets or bumpers or anything in his crib though...so I guess we kinda follow guidelines?

We followed the guidelines pretty closely. At nighttime, we swaddled my son and placed him on his back in his Pack 'n Play, which was in our room. We did this for the first 6 months. We swaddled him until he rolled over, and then did a gradual transition. While in the PnP, he didn't even have a sheet; it was just baby, sleeper, and swaddle.

I haven't had my baby yet, but I plan to try the guidelines. We will definitely be super flexible though. If he isn't sleeping at all bc of "guidelines" what's the point?

I let my kids sleep however they are comfortable 💁 there are safety and risks to everywhich way so i just let my babies lead the way.

1st son was in a bassinet until 3 months old then he went to his own crib in his own room with bumper pads because he would squirm and tangle his arms and legs in the bars, now hes almost 4 and sleeps in a twin size bed

2nd son slept in a rocker chair for 2 weeks in the living room with me, then bassinet and coslept until 3 months, coslept and playpen slept till 8 months and then he was shipped off to the crib to sleep in his brothers room, hes now 11 months and half the time my toddler crawls into the crib to sleep with his baby brother

My daughter sleeps in a rock and play. My pediatrician approves and really that's good enough for me. I get all the crazy rules but u can't help what the baby feels comfy in for sleep.
