Can you get the IUD on ur period???

So im planning to get the iud next week, But that's when i start my period. . On the feb.28.. will it be gross if i'm bleeding while they put it in? 😧should i call first to see what they say?

When I made the appointment to get mine they recommended that I schedule to get it when I had my period. It makes it easier for both you and the gyno.

your gynecologist will more than likely prefer you to be on your period. your cervix is larger which makes it easier to insert.

you can but if it gets too messy you shouldn't.. lol Maybe on the last day of ur period when ur not bleeding as much

They usually will still do it I would call just to make sure. They don't care I went in for my follow up to make sure mine didn't move and I was bleeding and it didn't phase them.
