is breastfeeding really worth it?

I've seen so many negative posts on this app and on Facebook. I really want to BF because of the health benefits for mom and baby & bonding, but I've seen so many negative things. Is it worth it?

It's worth it for me! It's hard as hell. Especially the first month. But it's not impossible. It's painful at first, exhausting, and so freaking hot! I stuck it out for the health benefits. You'll bond with your baby no matter what but it's awesome that he recognizes me the second I walk in the room even when his eyes are closed. And how he stops crying the second someone places him in my arms when he's hungry. Not only did my body grow him, but it's keeping him alive and that's awesome. I'm so glad I breastfeed.

I won't lie, it is really hard to start with.....but it was the most amazing experience. It really helped my bond with my daughter and I fully intend to do it again when this one arrives. I loved breast feeding and lots of my friends did too. 
Saying that, a couple of my friends hated it and gave up after a couple of weeks. I would say if you can do it, try it and decide for yourself.

It might be? I'm 27 weeks and would like to breastfeed! However... I will only breastfeed if I can! If I can't.. if it stresses me or the baby too much then I'll bottle feed because my baby being fed and happy is far more important to me than everyone else's opinions xx

I believe breastfeeding is so rewarding not only for baby but mom too! I have breastfed all 4 of my children and plan to to so with #5.  In the beginning, I won't lie, can be work, tiring, and make you very sore, but that passes and the closeness you feel with your baby is like nothing else 💖

It is. Expecting it will be hard is half the battle though! It does get easier. It took 12 weeks for it to feel more natural, by 20 weeks it was the easiest thing in the world. It's the hardest thing I've ever done but I'm proud and it is worth it. I ended up having a failed induction and c section- so I was super determined that I would breastfeed when my dreams of a natural water birth weren't fulfilled. Good luck. It really is worth it.

I think the health benefita make it great, HOWEVER you can totally bond and have a perfecrlt healthy formula fed baby.  Each has its pros and cons

It's 10x harder then I thought it would be to be honest!  For something so natural it sure did start off hard.  But it's soooooooo worth it. To know you are providing ng what your baby needs is amazing.  It is a bond too.  It's hard but I wouldn't change it. We are 3 months going strong and I hope to be able to do a year.

Yes! But never feel like you have to just because others make you feel that way. Do what is best for you and your baby.

The health benefits are well known, and your milk naturally adjusts in response to baby's needs. So for the sake of your baby it's totally worth it.

However, if it's impractical or painful for you, there's no shame in formula
