Zika and ttc--a bad idea???

Question

They found a possibly locally transmitted Zika case in my area. (The person infected didn't travel outside the county) so far a private lab confirmed it was Zika but the CDC has not.

My fiancé and I are ttc but now I am wondering if we should put it off. I'm going to try to go to the dr this week to get advice.

We plan to move in a year but I'm not sure if we'll be in another area infected by Zika.

I never get bit by mosquitoes but my fiancé does. I keep going back and forth on whether I should wait and won't decide until I see a dr, but wanted to get your guys opinions

When I got tested they told me not to try to have babes for 6 months but I had gotten really really sick on my deployment to the Philippines and that's why I had to get tested. I asked and they told me since I was never called back that I didn't have it and I would be good.

Personally I feel like if you know your area is infected then getting tested is a good idea and talk to them and see what they say. Also wear big spray 😝

It's not Zika causing birth defects. Zika has been around for waaaaaay longer than this recent outbreak & never had these issues. It's the chemicals they use to spray for mosquitos that's causing the birth defects. Don't let the media hype you up. They're trying to cover up the fact that Monsanto is responsible. Just wear bug spray if you're worried.
