alternatives to tampons or pads??

Hey ladies! I usually have a heavier flow and tend to use super tampons with pads as backup at night, but I hate the amount of waste I'm contributing to the planet by using something that just gets thrown away after a single use and contains a lot of chemicals. How do people feel about the diva cup or thinx underwear, esp. at night? Any input is greatly appreciated!
