my man wants to buy a sexy dress for me but I'm size 14

I guess I'm just asking for girl support because I was really excited to let him buy something for me and when I told him my size the conversation mood (even via text) seemed to change.. Like I think he feels like it'll be more difficult yet to find something he'd want to see me wear..
We're not even dating but we have made it known that we're really interested in each other and he was the one that said he wanted to buy something.. 
I know size 14 is not so large but it makes it tricky because I'm not really plus size (bra is 38B) and I'm not really normal shopping sizes either..  
A. Can you boost my spirits?
B.  Any suggestions I could tell him where to look for a sexy dress?
