placenta left inside

A day after giving birth and finally getting home i had to make a trip to the ER less than an hour of being home. I spent hours in the ER and was almost sent to surgery when i found out my doctor left part of my placenta inside me so one of my other obs that was on call "Removed" it completely and im made to stay overnight away from my newborn. Well one day later after the whole incident im in the shower when i feel something and see that the doctor hasn't fully removed my placenta like she thought she had. I tried to take it out but I can't Idk what to do at this point im so furious and traumatized by this whole experience. Has anybody had this ever happen to them? Everyone told me to sue before and now im really thinking about it. I don't want to have to make another trip to the hospital and made to stay overnight again.
