sex on birth control

So this is kind of uncomfortable to ask.

I started birth control last Sunday (8 days), now I just want to know if being on the pill will protect you from having intercourse and if he doesn't pull out? I know it says 2 weeks and that's when it's effective- I'm just curious. I'm still using condoms.
