Finally ready to share my birth story

Justyce • Mommy to an angel 👼 expecting again: March 18, 2018 ❤️ Mommy's little miracle 🤗
My little man came 5 weeks early. I was due with him March 18 and had him February 11. I went in for a shot (to develop his lungs because I had severe pre-eclampsia) and I had a bad headache and blurry vision. So I asked the nurse to check my blood pressure and it was AWFUL! They had to ambulance me 2 hours away from home to deliver my baby at a hospital that had a NICU. This hospital let me labor for 4 days. 4 freaking days! During that time, I was on magnesium, so I couldn't even get out of bed to walk around or go to the bathroom. I was on Pitocin too, but it wasn't wanting to work. On day 4, I got violently sick and threw up multiple times. One of those times, I aspirated and got a lot of fluid in my lungs. It went unnoticed until shift change hours later. Immediately, the next nurse noticed because my son's heartbeat started dropping and I wasn't breathing very well. They had to rush me in to do an emergency c section. During the c section, they had to intubate me and put a breathing tube in my mouth. They almost lost me and the baby. I woke up 2 days later in the ICU with the breathing tube still in. The doctor's still didn't know before I woke up if I even was going to wake up. But by the grace of God, my baby and I made it. He's still in the NICU, but we're hoping to go home soon. He'll be 3 weeks on Saturday and I included a picture because I just can't get over how perfect he is. I didn't get to meet him until he was 3 days old, but I plan on making it up to him the rest of his life. Everyone, I introduce Dakotah to you ❤️
