Can I press charges?
When I was a minor (15 I believe) my dad and his girlfriend opened up tv and internet accounts in my name under my social security number. They didn't pay the bills so now that I am 18, my credit is total shit. Can I get these accounts taken off my credit as if they never existed? I can't even get a credit card.
I also have never had a good relationship with my dad and I want to press charges on him for basically stealing my identity as a minor. I feel he needs to face consequences for that.
He thinks that I'm not allowed to press charges on him because I "wanted" these accounts.
When he created them, he had me get on the phone and speak to the representative to set up the account. But I was a minor and legally, anyone under 18 cannot create an account like this.
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
