Question about Home Buying

So there's a lot of smart women on here we're pretty young and have a baby now and it's made me want to settle in our life, work on owning our own home for our future and raising our daughter. From what I understand when paying off a home you are required to have home insurances but are those included in your monthly payments or do you pay them separately? If you have pretty bad credit does it make your monthly payments quite a bit higher or does it just cost more interest that you will have to pay over time? (We made a mistake in buying a one person owned but pretty new charger right when we turned 18 and it ended up being to expensive to pay for once we moved out of my dad's house so we got it taken and it really screwed up our credit, I know stupid decision lol we've learned a lot by now about budgeting etc.) Also do you have any say in what the monthly payments can be or is it only decided by the seller/home loan place?
