I started taking birth control pills less than half a month, i havent missed any but my period is late. Would the pills effect my period schedule?

Answer

Your period typically starts 21 days or so after the first pill you take. So even though it seems it is late from previous cycles (assuming you didn't wait for your period to end before starting the pill) it has been delayed until the "sugar pills" start. The sugar pills or last week of the pack is most likely when you'll get your period.
