Getting baby to sleep in bassinet or crib

Help! 10 day old baby, he will sleep in his bassinet for at most a half an hour before he wakes up and want to be held, at night he sleeps on my chest which I know is bad but he literally won't sleep not being held. I put up pillow barriers to ensure he won't fall. I want to get him sleeping by himself, it seems impossible. I have tried swaddling, maybe I'm not doing it right his arms always come undone. What can I do mom's? Please no judgement, really trying to do my best as a FTM.
