burping 1 month old

Hi does anyone have a difficult getting their baby to burp? My son is 7 weeks old and has a hard time burping to where sometimes he doesn't not burp at all during a feeding. Also, has anyone experienced their newborn getting a sore throat? My son sounds horse when he cries (stared this past Friday, after he cried for about 5 minutes when I tried to put him down to sleep. It could also be a cold. I will be calling the dr on Monday.
