Late...when do I take a test?! **update

At what point do I take a test? I'm 4 days late with no period symptoms and I'm not sure when to take a test. I don't want to get excited, too much pain from the past. But I am hopeful so I'm not sure what to do...thanks in advance!

I took one this morning and it was negative. I'm pretty depressed about it.

Your technically supposed to test on the first day of your missed period but you can test any time after you've missed your period just don't wait to take to long because you'll want to get into the doctor asap if you get a positive. You can also test up to 6 days before you miss your period.
