jury service?

Had a letter this morning for me to do jury service in a few months time. Has anyone done this before? I know nothing about it or what its like. Im a really shy and anxious person and Im freaking out quite a lot. No idea what to expect. Im in the UK as well.

I got a letter a few months ago too. But they called the day before I was supposed to go in and said not to, the case wasn't going anymore.

Hi after some advice please. Currently doing Jury Service. My employer has refused to pay me so I'm on the understanding the 2 weeks required for jury service I won't be expected to go to work on days I'm not needed or finish early. The court has rang me to say they do not need me to attend tomorrow but to show Monday at 10.30. Can anyone tell me as I will be claiming loss if earning from the government will I still get paid for these days they say I'm not needed?  Thanks Sam

I received a letter a while ago to do jury duty but I ended up writing them a letter and telling them that my job doesn't pay me for jury duty and I had to attend school so I ended up getting out of it

I'm just now of age to and I'm terrified waiting for the letter to come.. hopefully I'm the lucky one that never has to do jury duty.
